Brittany and Gordon welcomed their son, Camden into the world in February of this year.  Camden was born 10 1/2 weeks prematurely due to a placental abruption. After some testing, Camden was transferred from Athens Regional Medical Center to Scottish Rite in Atlanta.  He was having problems breathing. After many tests, the doctors felt like the best option was a tracheotomy procedure. This was a very hard decision for Brittany and Gordon, but they knew it had to be done. When Just Heart first heard from them, Camden had already been in the NICU for 73 days.  They were told that he would likely need to be there an additional three months after the surgery.  Since the roller coaster began, Brittany has not been able to return to her job as a preschool teacher.  Gordon continues to work, but still misses days when he needs to be with Camden. He commutes from Atlanta to Athens on a daily basis to be with his wife and child. Brittany and Gordon are hardworking people who found themselves on the brink of a financial crisis in the blink of an eye.  The Macy and Julian Allard Family Fund has covered the family's rent for six months, enabling them to catch up, spend time with Camden and get back on track. *An update on Camden's status will be posted ASAP.
