My husband and I struggled with infertility for 9 years before we had our son, Easton. After the first trimester, my pregnancy was completely normal with no complications…until I went into labor 9 weeks early.

This led to a 3 month NICU stay where Easton was treated for several diagnoses, including a hole in his heart. For 3 months we traveled back and forth to the NICU every day. It was the most challenging and heartbreaking experience we have ever had to endure.

Before Easton was even released, the medical bills started pouring in. Our caseworker suggested applying to The Just Heart Foundation for financial assistance. To be honest, I didn’t expect much, if anything at all. When we heard back that Just Heart was going to pay our mortgage for 2 months, we were astounded.

It took such a huge weight off our shoulders while we focused on Easton and all that we needed to do to help him get healthy. Easton is now 7 months old and thriving. We will be forever grateful for Just Heart Foundation and the donors that made their gift possible.
